And so it continues; the days flying by that is! It seems like it was only yesterday that I was writing something similar and now a week later I am sitting down to write my blog again. It has been a good, productive week though.
It was nice to see you all in your own clothes today, helping to raise money for what is a very special cause –Children in Need. Thank you for all of the money donated today, and for those of you who forgot to bring in your pound, please do so on Monday as it can then be added to our class donations before the money is then sent off.
In English next week, we will be continuing our unit based on the Spiderwick Field Guide with a particular focus on grammar techniques used within the text.
In maths we will be continuing to calculate percentages before moving onto formal methods for multiplication.
In Science you will be looking at transportation of water and nutrients around the body.
Apart from the PE sessions that will be as normal, we will be exploring issues surrounding mental health and anxiety in our themed week, ‘Just Talk’ the rest of the time in the afternoons so all other subject areas will be put on hold for a week. You may have seen some TV programmes ‘pausing’ to allow you some time to talk with your family, as it has been proven that talking helps to greatly reduce levels of stress and anxiety which are affecting more and more young people. We will be exploring some key issues through some carefully chosen texts and creating a class art display using printing techniques.
Homework for this week is a reading comprehension from the KS2 English Reading Fiction book, ‘An Underground City’, with the questions found on pages 16 and 17. This will be due to be completed and brought in on Monday. Once again, please continue to use Mathletics as this will help with your maths fluency.
