We have had a very productive week this week with some excellent discussions taking place as part of our ‘Just Talk’ week. Remember that, as your teachers, we are here for you during school time if you need to talk about anything that might otherwise affect your mental health, but more importantly, your family are always there for you and I would strongly urge you to talk to them first! As the saying goes, ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’ and never a truer word has been said -it’s good to talk!
In English next week, we will be finding out about several more fantastical creatures as we continue with Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide, writing character descriptions; a poem; and information pages about a creature from the book based on what you have learned about them.
In maths, we will be continuing with formal multiplication methods, using them to multiply decimals and solve problems before moving onto calculating area of triangles.
In science, you will be learning about healthy lifestyles, focussing on key aspects to ensure that you can live a long and healthy life.
In D & T, we will be trying our different stitching techniques that will be used when you create your final product at the end of the unit.
In computing, we will focus on safe searching, knowing what to do if something unsuitable or inappropriate shows up.
Homework for this week is found on pages 13, 14 and 15 of the maths Arithmetic CGP book. Page 16 is optional, though I would like to see many of you try it as this will help to fully consolidate your learning from the week.
Well done to those of who continue to use Mathletics regularly and particularly to those of you who have received certificates for your continued participation.
