Another week has gone by in a flash with lots of work produced. The MUFTI day was an incredible success in terms of the amount raised as collectively as a class we raised £57.40 which is absolutely fantastic –thank you all for your generosity!
Next week in English, we will be continuing with our unit based around the book Kensuke’s Kingdom. The main focus is writing, where we will be writing a description before writing in role as a key character from the text before we focus on inference skills needed for reading comprehension at the end of the week.
In maths, we will be finishing off our unit on division before focussing on area and perimeter of shapes.
In science you will be investigating electrical circuits. You will be coming up with your own investigation to see what effect the length of wire has on a circuit, making predictions and testing out your theories. We will focus on three types: Practical enquiry, Comparative and Control tests.
In history, we will learn more about the first ten Shang Dynasty kings and explore further, the evidence surrounding them.
In art, we will be adding characters to the oracle bone designs that the children have already produced. The children will have a choice of whether to use actual ancient Chinese characters or to create their own ones to represent different words.
In computing, we will be focussing on developing webpages to present information.
Homework for this week can be found on pages 26-28 of the CGP Reading comprehension book. Once again, please also continue to use Mathletics at home.
Thank you to those of you who are coming into school at 8:30 each morning –this has allowed for a productive time each day for morning work to be completed. Moving forward, we will also be able to use this time to fully focus on feedback and next steps, both from in class work and home learning tasks.
Have a great weekend
